Rafael Nadal is a Spanish professional tennis player. He has been nicknamed “King of Clay” for his domination on clay courts, and many analysts consider him to be the best clay court player of all time. By winning the 2013 French Open, Nadal became the only male player to win a single Grand Slam tournament eight times; he is also the first player to win at least one Grand Slam for nine consecutive years.

In 2005, Sports Speaker Nadal won his first French Open, becoming the first player to win the French Open on his first attempt. The following year, Nadal defeated Federer for his second consecutive French Open title; he also set a record by winning over 50 consecutive clay-court match victories. In 2008, Nadal won Wimbledon and the French Open; by doing this, he became just the third man in the open era to win both the French Open and Wimbledon in the same year. In addition, Nadal’s fourth consecutive French Open victory tied Bjorn Borg’s all-time record. Nadal’s best tennis year was undoubtedly 2010, in which he won Wimbledon, the US Open, and the French Open. By winning the US Open this year, Nadal became only the second male in history to complete a Career Golden Slam. In 2013, Nadal won the US Open and the French Open, bringing his Grand Slam title count to 13. In addition to his 13 Grand Slam singles titles, Nadal holds a record 26 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles and 14 ATP World Tour 500 tournaments.

Nadal endorses a variety of companies, including Kia Motors, Nike, and Armani jeans.  In 2007, Nadal created the Rafael Nadal Foundation, which focuses on social work and development aid in childhood and youth. Nadal has published an autobiography entitled “Rafa,” which reveals the secrets of his game and the personal story behind his success.
